About Natsumi: *Spoiler Alert* Originating from my story-in-progress, “Baroque Symphony”, Natsumi Uemada is known worldwide as the feared leader of a nefarious group of terrorists. (That’s right, terrorists. Not rebels, not freedom-fighters. Terrorists.) Currently assigned a bounty of 60,000,000 Notes, she is renowned as an SS+ criminal and considered extremely dangerous, not counting her rather sizeable “crew” of powerful fighters.

However, this is merely the image the world has been fed of Natsumi and her group. In reality, they travel across the world in secret, rooting out disparate threads in what they suspect is a deep, sinister plot. Due to their reputation as evildoers’, Natsumi and many of her friends have no home to go back to, the world almost completely against them. In the event of a huge, imminent threat by evil forces (though such a thing never happens during the story’s canon), Natsumi and her group would be among the first to retaliate, behind the scenes, of course.

Appearance: Natsumi usually dresses in a pink, floral patterned shirt with separated, billowy sleeves connected by black belt straps; Baggy, jet black pants with a pink, cherry blossom pattern running from the bottom of the left leg. Her colorful, fashionable style is often in stark contrast to Naota's oft- slapped together appearance. Her hair is easily her most distinguishing outer feature. It's long and runs down the back normally, but is dyed to a bright green and somehow managed to work in three purple spots as well, in addition to a distinctive, purple bang that hangs over her face. Her skin has a hearty tan to it, leading some to think later on that she may be of Filipino descent. (Every one of my characters has a strange, cartoonish idiosyncrasy about their appearance that reminds me of some random thing. In Natsumi's case, she reminds me of a mushroom; preferably a poisonous one.)


Personality: Natsumi is many things to many people. Some find her hot, some think she's mysterious, and some find her downright terrifying. She has a sharp tongue and seems to share Naota's penchant for sarcasm, though her tone is noticeably more coy and playful. She can be lazy and passive-aggressive at times, caring and protective at others. Her temper fluctuates easily, and she is quick to grow impatient with her "compatriots" antics, sometimes threatening physical abuse for failure. Later in the story, her sense of responsibility grows tenfold, and she develops a deep faith in those she comes to trust, though her blunt observations and insults seem to suggest the opposite. In many ways, she is like Naota; she can be dry, blunt and condescending, but also like Naota, her inner light can shine through if worked at enough.

Conduct in battle: As an extremely skilled swordswoman, Natsumi is a potentially deadly fighter, but prefers to hold back as much as possible. She makes a point to never kill, and tends to end a fight simply by quickly incapacitating her opponent with one quick swing. Typical of her sardonic personality, she likes to mock and demean her opponent into an emotional fury so she can easily strike an opening. Even when clearly outmatched, she won’t hesitate to treat her enemy as if they were just a nuisance. This isn’t due to cockiness, but rather from distaste for combat, calling it “annoying.” Despite all this, her skill can’t be denied, as she’s easily struck down much larger, stronger foes with a single cut. Due to her preference for stealth, she’ll often ignore an enemy’s underlings and go straight for the “Big Bad.”

Weapon: A 5ft long, obsidian blade katana she simply dubs “Jelousie”, which she wields Iaido-style. Occasionally, she’ll unsheathe the sword and use the sheath for combat as well. …..And that’s about it. No special, frivolous features or magic imbuements. She’s just REALLY good with her sword. Also, her seemingly infinite pack of cigarettes are often used to distract the enemy, either with a lit bud to the eye or by cutting one with such speed that it combusts near her foe. Hey, whatever works to a crook.
